In an era where artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly reshapes technology and security, CSA launches the AI Safety Initiative, a pioneering effort dedicated to establishing and disseminating trusted security best practices for AI. With an initial focus on Generative AI, our mission is to empower organizations of all sizes with the guidelines, templates, and knowledge they need to deploy AI solutions that are safe, responsible, and compliant. Our objectives include:
Creating trusted best practices for AI and make them freely available
Providing customers of all sizes confidence to accelerate responsible adoption due to the presence of guidelines for usage that mitigate risks
Complementing AI assurance programs within governments with a healthy degree of industry self-regulation
Addressing critical ethical issues and impact to society resulting from significant advances in AI over the next several years

CSA is set to enhance STAR, our industry leading cloud assurance program, to include AI compliance and certification services. This expansion, named STAR AI, will cater to both providers and enterprises incorporating AI into their solutions, based on the consensus best practices developed by the initiative research working groups. A full roadmap for this update will be announced in Q3 2024.
